The discomfort in the right side of the abdomen below the ribs can be from hepatitis or inflammation of the liver, gall bladder disease, peptic ulcer , kidney, muscular pain etc. Sometimes pleural pain of the lung can be referred here. A physical examination by doctor is necessary to distinguish among them. You may need tests like ultrasonography, liver enzyme study, urine test etc to confirm the diagnosis.
