Thanks for providing more information .
Well pain from the upper thigh that is on the front of the thigh and goes to the knee, shin is very characteristic of pain due to irritation of a nerve, particularly the femoral nerve , which runs in front part of leg .
Also you have hip pain so there may be possibility of Lumbar radiculopathy (compression of lumbar nerves L4 or L5 or sacral nerves due to spinal disc herniation, degeneration of the discs.) which results in pain , burning sensation .
So you need to undergo X-ray/MRI of Lumbosacral spine and a clinical examination by an Orthopedist or neurologist for further evaluation and management .
As you have tried conservative measures (NSAIDS, physical therapy) with little results so you may require prescribed medications .
Apart from this , as you have unexplained bruises on thigh so there may be possibility of thrombophlebitis ( inflammation of the vein) or varicose veins which is causing the knot and bruise. you should also get liver function tests , PT/INR and venous Doppler of your legs..
I hope this helps.
