I had a Thyroid ultrasound last week and my doctor's office called and I'm being referred me to an Endocrinologist because they found palpable nodules. What does that mean?
Dear customer,

did you also have the thyroid profile done?
is your thyroid enlarged?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
No and no. I had an ultrasound on my neck for early heart disease and they first saw the nodules. The thyroid ultrasound was follow up.
Dear customer,

The thyroid nodules may be due to various causes like iodine deficiency, thyroid cancer, thyroiditis, thyroid cyst, multinodular goitre, etc.

The thyroid profile along with FNAc of the thyroid tissue will be helpful to know the associated abnotmality and cause of such nodules.

The treatment is according to the underlying cause.
