Hello, welcome to just answer and thank you for your question.

1. Is the lump soft/firm/hard?

2. How big?

3. Is it felt over the ribs or just underneath it?

4. When did you notice it?

I am still online while you provide me the above info.

It is a little below my last rib. it's small. Not really hard. it could be like those fibroids or whatever they are in my breasts. I've had one for ages in the front under my ribs. the difference is that this one hurts. not a lot. it just makes me uncomfortable.

Such lumps have to diagnosed by doing a clinical examination because the consistency and the margins of the lump felt on palpation itself help to diagnose it.

Some possibilities are lipoma , large sebaceous cyst, fibroma etc.
The pain in the bump indicates that it may be infected.

Please check this out with your GP. Further treatment would depend on the diagnosis.Generally, you will need complete removal / excision.
