Hello, .
Welcome to justanswer and thank you for your question.

Well, this test is done for checking white blood cells and other signs associated with infection.
By this test, one can detect a substance which suggests there are white blood cells in the urine, and is responsible for urinary tract infection.
It is also called as WBC esterase. WBCs in the urine may mean a UTI is present.

Dr. Robert, does this mean that at the present time my bladder is not free of infection and that perhaps
I should be on an antibiotic precisely for a UTI?
Yes, your test has indication of WBC, and you will be requiring antibiotics to cure the infection.

Please see your doctor for prescription of antibiotics.

Kind Regards
Dr Robert.
