Do you have cough or respiratory illness?

On which part of the chest do you feel pain?

Do you take any medicine?

Did you have any test?

Do you have any other symptom or previous illness?

Thank you.

I don't have a cough. The pain is right in the center of my chest below my sternum. I has a doctor put me on an antibiotic for staph last Friday. This pain started yesterday so I haven't been to a local doctor yet. I've been battling a staph infection which started back in September. But I didn't know it was staph until this past Friday.

Where do you have staph infection?

Which antibiotic are taking?

Are you taking antibiotic till now?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
The staph started out inside my nose, like pimples. Then I got a couple of sores on the back of my head, on my scalp. I'm taking sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160 and a cream for the sores - mupirocin. I'm still taking the antibiotic. He gave me the prescription Friday with 20 tablets. I take one table twice a day.

Thank you for the information,

The pain in the centre of the chest below the sternum which worsens with breathing & swallowing can be due to musculoskeletal in origin.

Another possibility can be pleurisy or inflammation of the lungs covering as you have thought of.

Inflammation of the covering of the heart or pericarditis can cause pain in this area.

Among other causes, reflux pain can be felt in this area but it should not aggravate with breathing.

I feel you should have an examination by doctor asap to find out the cause and early start of treatment as it is necessary.

Please feel free for any follow up query.

Best wishes.
