Customer Question
I have a normal blood...
I have a normal blood pressure of 126 over 78 but my pulse rate seems high at 105 this morning. I feel a little off. is this something i should be concerned about. I am 5 feet 9 and 240 lbs. I am a 40 year old woman and I have currently started to change my eating habits to become a vegan. It has been 7 days and I am going to maintain this lifestyle. I am taking a b12 supplement under the tongue once a day and also after having bloodwork discovered that my vitamin d was low. the number was 22. my doctor suggested taking 1000 units of vitamin d daily. I have started doing this.
My family has a high number of women with a para hyper thyroid problem. Is the fast pulse related to this condition. I also suffer from chronic pain throughout my body. Within the last 2 months my hands have been in extreme pain and i feel my muscles are fatigued.

I am currently going to see a rheumatoid doctor and see if my pain is indeed from arthritis. I have just had preliminary blood work done but have not recieved the results as of yet.

hyperparathyroidism is what both my aunt, grandmother and cousin were diagnosed with.

I have not been diagnosed to date with any thyroid problem but i am wondering if there are proper blood tests to diagnose specific hyperparathyroidism?

I do not take any medication and i am mentally well balanced.

I have noticed that my resting pulse can range from 79 to like i said about 103 or 105 on occasion. i would say that my average pulse is about 89-95.

Is my pulse rate dangerous or and indication of an underlying problem? I did just take an echo cardiogram stress test and was told that everything was fine. I hit my target heart rate at 8 minutes and my blood pressure was being monitored and i was told it was fine.

A healthy adult heart beats 60 to 100 times a minute when a person is at rest .
As your echocardiogram, stress test are normal so it is less likely to have any underlying cardiac pathology .
Apart from this , as you have family history of hyperparathyroidism so you need to undergo S.calcium and PTH (PARATHYROID HORMONE), Thyroid function test for further evaluation .
Fast heart rate can also be caused due to following factors -
Smoking
Heavy alcohol consumption
Heavy caffeine consumption
Imbalance of electrolytes
Overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism)
So you should avoid smoking ,cafffeine , alcohol .
Drink plenty of water and rehydration solution .
Do deep breathing exercises.
If you have associated chest pain ,shortness of breath with increased heart rate then visit ER .
I hope this helps.
If you have any further query then feel free to ask.

I do not smoke nor do i drink alcohol, i did drink caffeinated coffee this morning. I do have a mitrial valve prolapse. thank you for letting me know what test to undergo. how would i go about balancing electrolytes?

MVP is harmless in most cases.
However some people with MVP may experience symptoms and tachycardia is a symptom of MVP .
As such MVP can cause increased pulse rate .

Keep your self hydrated and drink plenty of fluids especially in hot weather .
