Customer Question

I have what feels like ridges on my scalp. When I combed and hair picked my hair I found these ridges were large scablike flakes that seim-lifted off the scalp. They were very painful to pull off my scalp and strands of hair seemed to have grown through the white, thin papery looking scabs. They are all over my head, concealed by hair but painful when I comb or brush. They itch badly at times and sometimes, not at all. I was recently diagnosed w/kidney cancer and underwent surgery. Iused to have oil hair but now have very dry hair and scalp, brittle hair and my hair seems to be thinning. I am 70 yrs. old and never had a problem like this. I do dye my hair w/different products, have always had very thick hair w/occasional dandruff but nothing like these. I'm using Selson Blue shampoo and no conditioner. Helps some but does not seem to be clearing up. Help!

i am asking do you have similar ridges or scales anywhere else?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
No, only on the scalp. Seems they come and go, is it possible?
Expert:  Kayfarooq replied 7 years ago.
ok thats fine, your scalp problem is not related with your kidney promblem, however it could be due to diffrent products that you have been using to dye your hair as these products do contain chemicals that act as irritants and they do damage scalp skin,i would advise you to with hold such products and consult a dermatologist as proper diagnosis can only be made after local examination of your scalp,

i hope that satisfies you
best regards
