I have a soft lump on my neck. It's at the base of my neck to the side of my spine. It's been there for about 4-5 months now. It doesn't hurt. What could it be

It could be either a lymph node or lipoma ( fatty tumor ). lymphnodes can be enlarged in infections, metastatic dises or lymphoma. you should see your doctor for examination and if concerned biopsy will be needed.
