Resolved Question:

I have fluid-like pockets underneath each eye (one side is bigger than the other) that sit on my cheek bone. They come and go, and are very noticeable when I smile. I had a CT of my sinuses and they are clear. I feel constant pressure in my face when I lay down and feel as if I need to blow my nose all the time. I have been on numerous antibiotics, nose sprays, washes, etc., but they are still visible. what other type of doctor should I see to address this problem or what other suggestions do you have?

Been having these pockets for about two years.
Only other symptoms I can think of....occasional headaches that feel rated to sinus pressure
I have been allergy in the past. Seasonal allergies. Mostly mold.
I am not diabetic or hypertensive. I am extremely active and workout 6 days /week
I have anemia and take meds for it (niferex).

Fluid retention under eyes or bags under eyes can be due to -

- diet related - excessive salt intake

- hormonal imbalance - hypothyroid

- Oversleeping/sleep deprivation - Interrupted sleep cycles are common causes of eye puffiness

- alcohol and tobacco use - Alcohol and tobacco contain toxins that may lead to stress, fatigue, and hormonal changes. These can cause fluid retention and swelling around the eyes in some people

- allergies - chronic allergies can cause leakage of fluid from small blood vessels into the surrounding tissue. SInce you have sinusitis, this can be a possible cause in your case.

- skin allergies or dermatitis

- hereditary

- normal aging phenomenon, seen sometimes early in some people

I would advise you to consult your doctor to rule out problems like hypothyroid. In the meantime cut down on added salt, alcohol/tobacco etc.
