You should also get X Ray of the knee done, to rule out osteoarthritis developing over there.

how about blood clots
Faint chance of clots here.
With clots , you will have pain and swelling in the calf, rather then the knee.

In that case, you should rule out blood clots by getting a Doppler Vascular ultrasound done.
Your treating doc can give you a referral for this.
In case, this turns out to be a clot, you would need to be put on blood thinners/ or a surgical embolectomy may be needed.
