mild thickening of distal esophagus means that there is some thickening of lower end of the esophagus( a tube that carries food from mouth to the stomach) near the point where it joins the stomach.

this thickening can occur due to recurrent inflammations or following acid reflux into the lower esophagus from the stomach.

skiding hiatal hernia is a abnormality in which a part of stomach is pushed upwards into the chest through diapragm

it does not needs treatment unless there are symptoms like heart burn, belching, chest pain.

surgical repair is treatment for this hiatal hernia if isymptoms are bothersome.
