Injured Adam's apple

Resolved Question:

What does it mean if you crushed your Adam’s apple and how long does it take to heal?

The Adam’s apple is created by the thyroid cartilage that surrounds the voice box. Injury to the Adam’s apple can lead to difficulty with speaking. If the Adam’s apple is damaged it can also lead to airway obstruction and potentially be fatal if the airway is obstructed. If the injury is severe it may require surgical intervention. An injury that may have bruised the area can heal over a period of a couple of weeks.
