Hello Customer!
Gliosis is a form of scarring in the brain. Gliosis is seen in various disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, vitamin B12 defieciency extremes, multiple system atrophy, parasitic disease, multiple sclerosis and AIDS. It can also be found in Parkinson's disease and after trauma or infarction (stroke). The gliosis itself is not treatable but further occurrence is prevented or treated according to the cause. If you are not currently seeing a neurologist this can be narrowed down with a neurological consult. Many patients discover they have gliosis as a result of looking for something else on a MRI. There is not necessarily symptoms of pain or neurological deficit from the gliosis itself depending on the location and original cause only.
Good Luck
Hope this helps!
