Resolved Question:

I have recently been having pain between my index finger and middle finger on my left hand, for around 6 weeks now the pain is getting worse, which is stopping me doing the normal things like driving, lifting objects etc. I am young lady of 35 with 2 young kids, and usually fit and healthy. I havent visited my local G.P yet. Can you help?

Dear *****marie
Is there any swelling/
Did you injure it at any time?
Is there any redness?
Is pain present at rest also or occurs only on activity?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
No there is no swelling, No I did not injure it, No redness, And pain is usually when it is used or lifting, I have experienced sharp pain whilst sitting doing nothing, but as I mentioned they pain seems to be getting worse.

DearCustomerbr />You may have

  • Tendinitis of the slips of EDC to index and middle fingers
  • Tendinitis of extensor indicis proprius
  • Injury at insertion of interosseous muscle
Correct diagnosis would require a visit to an orthopaedic surgeon, who may then use drugs or steroid shot to treat this condition.
Ultra sound massage may also be helpful.
