19 yr old female. Fever for the last three days ranging from 100-102. Congestion, bad cough and severe stomach pain. Had chest x-ray done at ER, came back normal. White blood cell count low. Had ultra sound done at ER and was told that it showed abnormal liver function. Was recommended that we find a Doctor. Family history shows Father having poor liver function due to alcoholism, which eventually killed him. Sister was diagnosed with retinablastoma at age 4. High incidence of cancer on maternal side. Have no idea what kind of Doctor to go to or what any of this could mean.

Can you tell us your results of Liver function test and WBC?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.

ER personnel said that WBC was lower than the low of normal; and was very low. Liver function test was perfomed and Doctor only said that it was abnormal. This hospital is in a very small town and does not have many resources. That is all we were told.

A low white blood cell count( leukopenia) is a decrease in disease-fighting cells (leukocytes) circulating in your blood. It can be caused due to infection in the body.
Abnormal liver function tests may indicate that your liver is inflamed or is not working normally. This can be a sign that you have a viral infection.

Liver tests are done when a medical history or physical exam suggests that something may be wrong with your liver.
