Ok so I got the junk yard switch. It still doesn’t work but the symptoms have changed. So I’m gunna order a new one and proceed from there. I am however having another issue I was hoping you could help with. I have a code popping up P0012 - Camshaft Position - timing over retarded - bank 1. Assuming that bank 1 is the bank closest to the front of the car I replaced that cam sensor two weekends ago because of a cam sensor code. However I can’t remember if it was the same code. This is causing the engine to stall once the load is removed (when I press the clutch).

not sure why you replaced the cam sensor. that code is not sensor related

Ask Your Own Mazda Question
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
Ok give me a little bit to go through this. And like I said, I’m not sure if it was the same code, also my brother knows a Mazda tech. He said “the problem could get very expensive, try out the sensor. It’s $20 dollars vs. potentially a couple hundred” so that’s what I did.
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
Ok, this isn’t something I’m going to be able to do tonight. But as soon as I get to it I’ll get back to you. Thanks again for the info.

Good evening sir. I’m about to start looking into the dtc issue we talked about yesterday but I also have a new and odd development with the multifunction switch. So I just went and bought a new switch and when I plugged it in with the key out the left turn signal illuminated (not flashing). And when I turned the key on it the signal stayed on while also activating the wipers. (Still no front turn signals or rear tail lights)
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
Ok forget everything I said about the left signal. All of a sudden it’s working. Repeatedly.
Mazda Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 3 months ago

ok good.

Still no taillights. And the front right turn signal is still out. Any thoughts on the taillights?
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
sir. Not blown.
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
It wasn’t connected. Idk where it goes. Or what it’s for.

thats for the remote keyless entry. nothing to do with this issue

Ask Your Own Mazda Question
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
That would explain why the key fob doesn’t work. And yes I know, I bought a nightmare. My brother keeps reminding me.
Mazda Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 3 months ago

im not sure whats going on with the taillights and turn signals and wipers. the only thing in common is the 2 switches on the steering column and the flasher module.

Ask Your Own Mazda Question
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
The wipers are no longer an issue. That hasn’t happened since I first messaged you today. That’s what I meant when I said the left signal was working. The only issues I have with lights at the moment is the front right turn signal Isn’t working and the taillights.
Mazda Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 3 months ago

ok. let me look into this a bit

Can you look to see if there’s a common ground for this issue please. The condition keeps changing. Now the engine cooling fan is being activated with the hazards (intermittently)
