Mazda Repair Questions? Ask Mechanics for Answers ASAP
Hello, does the vehicle start fine?
If the security light is flashing that means there is a problem with the anti theft or immobiliser system. You should take it in and have it checked out. It is giving you just a warning at the moment but eventually it could give you a starting problem.
Depending on the code present, it could not recognize the keyfob and not start the vehicle.
It will have to go to mazda. They are the only one's that can diagnose and program the immobilizer system.
I think they charge around 120$ for diagnostics, depending on the dealer. You should ask before you drop it off.
Neither, it is a immobilizer/ anti theft system problem.
No. The light is supposed to flash when you unlock the car. It should go off once you turn the ignition on.
It is hard to say how long without knowing the codes but since anti theft is involved i would recommend as soon as possible.
It is the system that tells the vehicle that the right key is being used to start the vehicle. If malfunction the vehicle could think that someone is trying to steal the vehicle and the computer will disable the vehicle.
Not stolen, but if the anti theft system malfunctions then the computer will disable the vehicle and then it will have to be towed in to the dealer.
