HI , my name is***** have a 2004 Mazda 6 , 4 cylinder engine.
My problem with the car begin one day when the battery light went on.
I understood right away that it has to do with the alternator .
When I reach home , I open the hood to check if it is .
With the engine on , I took the positive battery cable of , to see if the engine will go of .
That was Exactly what happen , it went of .
But when that happen I saw that the wiper go on 2 second and go of .
I went in the car . I could smelt like burning electricity wire .
I drive the car to a Garage.
They inspect the car , and replace the alternator for a new one.
They had to replace all the outside bubs on the car because all of them was burned.
But the battery indicator light is still on and the
Cruise control light to and the worst of all is that as soon the engine start the a/c go on . With the a/c switch of .
I noticed that when I start the engine , the batter indicator light go off for 5 second , An d as soon it go on , the a/c begin to work. The only wat to shut it of is taking of the a/c relay
Now tell me what is the problem ?
How could it be fixed ?

Hi there,

More than likely you have damaged the body control module when you disconnected the battery with the engine running, which is a bad habit with late model cars.

The alternator charge rate went skyrocket, that's why all the bulbs were blown.

It would have been bettter to go to Mazda first, now it cost more to fix it.

Best to go to Mazda now.

but the engine strat , the car can drive , it change all his speed .
But as I say before the cruise controle light and battery light stay on and the a/ will not go of.
Have that to do with the PCM ? I brought it to Mazda dealer , they scan it . They told me that the PCM can't communicate with the SPEEDOMETER CUSTER.
the told me that that is also a ecu.
I change if for another one , but the problem is still.

Hello again,

I've never seen a car with all the bulbs blown at the same time.

So this was a serious voltage spike.

Could be PCM as well.

The cluster is an ECU.

Why not let Mazda help you, instead of guessing?
