2003 Mazda6 2.3 4 cylinder car shut down while on freeway still won't start check the OBD2 codes po340 camshaft sensor A circuit bank 1 or single sensor circuit malfunction p2187 unidentified code po442 evap emissions control system leak detected small leak po455 evap control system leak detected large leak changed out camshaft sensor still no start check the volts at plug no power that plug fuses and relays all seem good check fuel pump determine module not putting out enough current changed out fuel pump changed out crankshaft positioning sensor installs new connector plug at crankshaft sensor still no start t sounds like she wants to but dosent rt but doesn't fires once well cranking but not continuous only one sspark looks like it's yellow ish spark not blue plugs. Smell of gas could almost be gas foul but still only get one spark and the distribon instrument on instrument panel shows a car with a key in it which is the anti theft mechanism blinks every to every 2 seconds approximately flashes will my car not turn the key on blinks and then goes out but car doesn't start not sure if it has anything to do with that would be shutting down the system at a standstill not sure next step coil anti-theft system locked up or something over looking what's my next step what am I missing thanks appreciate any info you can give me not sure if anybody else had this problem before but it sucks I'm all taped on cash. N don't have a credit card sucks never have any money left over to put in the bank wish I did. Thanks for your time

Hi Im David, you need to do a compression test of all the cylinder before anything else.

anytime you are driving a vehicle and it shuts off with a p0340 and the new sensor didnt fix it, you MUST do a compression test

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If it set a P0340 and replacing the sensor didn't help then there is a good chance the timing belt has broken. P0340 sets when there is no cam signal at the PCM yet the crank signal is present, if the cam isn't turning due to a broken belt then it will set this.

Does the engine seem to crank faster than normal?
