Question: My 2005 Mazda MPV is having starting issues: it

Customer Question

My 2005 Mazda MPV is having starting issues: it won't.
When I open the door, all cabin lights are off.
When I turn the key, all the dash lights come on, but the car won't turn over.
Started yesterday. cabin lights came on, but needed jump to start.
Needed second jump last night. Bought new battery. Charged it all night.
Installed it this morning, dead as described above.
Pulled battery from working car, tried it again. Still dead as described above.
Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

You may have a connection or cable issue. Voltage drop in a cable or poor connection could allow items with a small amount of current draw to work but not flow enough amperage to allow the starter to engage.

Do you hear any noise from the engine compartment when trying to start the engine?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No noise. No nothing. Power to windows and dash lights.
No attempt to turn over, no clicking, nothing. no interior lights, no power seat.
Need the override to get it out of park.I couldn't wait and took it to a shop.
