Mazda b2300: key lock cylinder housing is stripped, what specific

This answer was rated:

key lock cylinder housing is stripped, what specific parts do i need to replace the housing?
Hello and welcome to Justanswer,

The problem you are describing is very likely caused by the fact that you do not have the switch timed correctly with the lock gear. See the steps HERE for timing the lock to the gear and see if this helps. The instructions are for a Ford Ranger but the B2300 is actually a Ford Ranger with the Mazda Name Plate.

okay, i will give this a try, but just viewing into the hole for the lock cylinder, it appears, the gear at the bottom of the hole may be messed up from the screwdriver as well.

If that is the case then you will need to replace the gear, make sure when your installing the gear too reach in and push the rack forward to the on position before you install your gear.
