Mazda Protege LX How do I replace third brake light bulb on

How do I replace third brake light bulb on my 2000 Mazda Protege?

Hello I will help you with your question,

This is the lamp mounted on the rear shelf and you don't have a spoiler?

If so press on the leading edge of the lens at the shelf to release the lock under the shelf. While pushing lift the lens cover off the shelf and you will have access to the bulb

Let me know if you have the spoiler and if you have further questions

Thank you

I tried doing what you said to do! Nothing releases!! Is there some sort of tool I need to release this housing?

Let me post a diagram for you

And here

Combine both procedures to release the hooks from under the package tray to lift the lamp cover

Let me know if this works for you

Thank you
