Calculate the emissions reductions if a coal fired power plant is converted to wood pallets. The biomass burned by the power plant is fully regrow but 15% of the harvest is consumed during processing of the biomass. Futhermore the transportation of the wood and wood pallets from the source to power plant requires 295 liters of diesel per ton of wood pallet delivered.
Treat the diesel as pure cetane and wood pallets as pure carbohydrate chains.

Caloric value of wood pallets 16GJ/t
Density of cetane 0.78 kg/LCalculate the percentage savings (eg. If coal emits 200 units of carbon dioxide and the biomass plant had a net emission of 120 units, then percentage savings is (200-120)/200= 40%)
