Hi I am currently studying...

Hi I am currently studying as an older student for my maths GCSE and as it is home study I am teaching myself. I am currently really stuck on a question which is to do with square, cubed roots and negetive index numbers. The question I have is to work out what 64-1/2 is (that is 64 minus a half) I hope this makes sense as this is the negative index question and I am unbelievably stuck.
