My Simrad CA40/50 has a problem, When you first turn it on

Customer Question

My Simrad CA40/50 has a problem, When you first turn it on it goes into testing both cmap
charts before you can continue to start. then when you continue it comes up no transducer
connected and you have to go into setup to reset the transducer.
After it is shut down again and you go to power up next time it goes through the same process of Testing Charts and you have to once again setup the transducer. This never used to happen????.
Hope you can help.

Hi Craig,

This problem can occur if the internal battery is not storing a good charge.

You will need to disassemble the Simrad and replace the internal battery.

If you are unable to do this yourself, a local marine electronics shop should be able to do it for you.
