I have a 1630 radar and the transmit screen has gone

Customer Question

I have a 1630 radar and the transmit screen has gone bonkers. Occasionally I get error message "NO HEADING PULSE" and otherwise the transmitted screen appears with rotated results or just plain garbage. I don't know how to troubleshoot further. Any suggestions?

Hi Gary,

When "the message “NO HEADING PULSE” or “NO BEARING PULSE” appears, you should check that the antenna cable is firmly connected.

Check all connections are secure and no wiring is damaged.

Let me know how you get on.

I checked the two connections at the display and they are firmly attached. Visually, nothing seems out of order on the dome. What next?

Next you will need to test the unit with a different dome to rule out a problem with the antenna; or you could test a different unit using your antenna.
