Turn Off the display. Unplug it from the power too if you can.
Leave it that way for at least 2 hours to cool off and rest-reset.
See if it works better after that.
How old is the display?
What maker, and model, is it ?
What transponders and/or GPS antennas, is it hooked up to? check all such connections. Re-seat every connection to it.
Check the voltage supplied to it, with a voltmeter. What do you find for DC Volts?
