Customer Question

I just installed a new A78 along with a new Ray 60 VHF. They are separately powered , up and running. I thought that I could just plug in the cable that come with the unit (seatalk), and they would share data. Wrong. How do I go about doing this. I also would like to add a external GPS antenna to the A78

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

The cable that came with the unit ? I think that one of those two devices, the A78, has an NMEA 2000 adapter included with it, and the VHF radio includes the NMEA2000 networking option.

Did you hook it up with that adapter, or not?

What did you do to try to 'share data' (what data, specifically) ?

And what was the result, specifically?
