I installed a new Sitex T-760 radar on my 28 ft boat this

Customer Question

I installed a new Sitex T-760 radar on my 28 ft boat this summer. When the radar is transmitting both of my marine VHF radios on separate antennas experience reduced sensitivity. Antennas are mounted on each side of flybridge and Sitex is just forard of the bridge. How can I correct this?

You need to keep the VHF aerials at least 4 feet away from other aerials and the radar unit...

If closer than this the radar unit will swamp the front end of the VHF despite being on a different frequency...

If you can't move the aerials further away you may have to fit a radar blocking filter to the VHF aerial leads...
