Customer Question

I just purchased and installed a Garmin G2 Vision chart. The chart plotter recongnizes the chart on the info page but does not display any of the chart attributes. How can I get the chart plotter (Garmin 7012) to actually read the chart?

Hi there,
Try adjusting the level of zoom detail.
Let me know if the chart attributes are then displayed.

Hello & Welcome,
I have a couple of questions and some resources for you to look at.
Was this card purchased from a "dealer" or private party (as used)?
Does this card cover the AREA you are looking at on the charts?
Are you leaving the card IN the device when trying to use it?
I have a couple of videos that you may want to look at. The show what SHOULD happen when a programmed card such as the G2 Vision is installed - and you are looking at the area (on the charts) that are covered by the card.
This Video (about 2 minutes) shows installation and VERIFICATION of a working card on a GPSMAP 720, but the concepts are the same (look at Navigation and Fishing charts for the DETAILED data added by the card).
This video (about 11 minutes long) shows a bit of detail about "routing & waypoints" - and gets into using the G2 Vision card about half way (4:30) into the video. It also shows how the "images" on the card can be accessed.
Another consideration:
Does the device have updated software - to be able to handle the G2 Vision? You may want to check on that via the following link.
Please let me know about the AREA that is covered by the card and what you find when you check the videos I have referenced above.
