you can follow these steps:
Connect your Canon camera to your iMac using a USB cable.
Turn on your Canon camera.
On your iMac, open the "Finder" app.
Look for your Canon camera under the "Devices" section in the left-hand sidebar of the Finder window.
Double-click on your Canon camera to open it.
Look for the folder that contains your photos.
Select the photos you want to download.
Drag the selected photos to a folder on your iMac.
Wait for the photos to finish transferring.
Once the transfer is complete, eject your Canon camera by right-clicking on its icon in the Finder and selecting "Eject".
Alternatively, you can use the "Image Capture" app on your iMac to download your photos. Here's how:
Connect your Canon camera to your iMac using a USB cable.
Turn on your Canon camera.
On your iMac, open the "Image Capture" app.
Look for your Canon camera under the "Devices" section in the left-hand sidebar of the Image Capture window.
Select the photos you want to download.
Choose a destination folder for the photos.
Click the "Import" button to start the download.
Wait for the photos to finish transferring.
Once the transfer is complete, eject your Canon camera by clicking on the "Eject" button next to its icon in the Image Capture window.
