Resetting NVRAM

Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. Turn on your Mac. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys immediately after you hear the startup sound. Hold these keys until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for a second time.

If i log out i won’t be able to get back in as my PASSWORD REQUIRES LETTERS THAT AREN’T REGISTERING ON THE KEYBOARD

You will need to have USB keyboard if that is the case. but normally if you follow the steps above it will solve the issue.
