A friend; to get access to more tunes

All you have to do is, buy the card, scratch it, take a photo of the code and then send it to your friend via email or message. You can also call your friend to give the number. Does that answer your question?

Where do I go to cash in at the other end having done everything else?
By the way, they want a copy of the card too just in case I stile the numbers

Not sure why they want a copy of the card as once they redeemed it, you no longer can use it. All you have to do is, just send them the code you get after scratching it. This is just a voucher and the code is what is important.

You can also just take a picture of it on your phone and send them the picture.

How is the money cashed in at the other end?

They will not get it as cash. They will enter this code on their Apple ID or iTunes account via iPhone or computer and it will add as credit to their account, like you credit your phone.

I'm not sure what do you mean. You said you are sending this card to your friend. All you have to do is, send the card number to them and they can just enter it on their account to redeem. The card can be redeemed to one account. If one person redeemded it to their account, then the other can't redeem or use it.
