I've tried to upgrade...

I've tried to upgrade to high sierra because my tax program requires me to do so. Even though my mac reads installed already. Problem 2 is retrieving a lost password ***** my apple id

Technician's Assistant: When did you last change your password ***** Apple ID?

Tried to this afternoon but needed the current PW to proceed. Before then I don't remember.

Technician's Assistant: Did you try resetting through Apple's online account reset tool?

Short answer, no. But I tried so many times today, I don't remember what I did

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mac Expert to know before I connect you?
