I have a new...

I have a new Macbook and have just finished migrating all my data from my old Macbook Air. But now on the new Macbook I get a window saying macOS need to repair your Library to run applications. Enter your password ***** allow this. I've put in every password *****'ve ever used for anything but nothing works. I can't get into my new Macbook!!

Technician's Assistant: When did you last change your password ***** Apple ID?

Months/years/ ago don't really remember, sorry

Technician's Assistant: Did you try resetting through Apple's online account reset tool?

I tried something about half an hour ago that souhds like the Apple resetting tool but if you were to guide me through the right way I might have greater success. I am a bit frustrated
