I have a Apple...

I have a Apple I-pad. I have had it for at least 2 years. I was watching a special on 13 re: Bob Hope and shut it off to shop. When I got back it will not let me in and says I need my iCloud password, which I have forgotten. I am the original owner. It shows my user name as *****@******.***. I assume it is***@******.***. Help

Technician's Assistant: When did you last change your password ***** Apple ID?

I have not changed, I just forgot

Technician's Assistant: Did you try resetting through Apple's online account reset tool?

Since my machine is locked I cannot access or have information on how to reset.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mac Expert to know before I connect you?

Just that I need to get around the activation lock.

Once done, you will likely need to reset your password ***** this you can do via my link below

https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid

Use the link to reset your password ***** once done use this new password
Once done, you can use these details to sign in on your device
