Then if that does not work you can try and plug your phone into your computer and open itunes as sometimes that helps recognize the phone and wakes it up.
You can also try and put the phone into recovery mode if above does not work and then back up and then do a restore or update by doing the following. Then if you have done this and it still does not work you can clean the charging port area by either blowing into it or using an air can to make sure there is nothing inside possibly.
After the update see if your phone will charge.
If step 5 does not work make sure you have done a back up and try restore. A restore erases all data but then you can apply your backup.
