One year ago+ two hours on with apple support

Nope...jsut need to be able to delete emails before I go insane

Rebuilding your mailbox typically corrects this problem. In this process, the messages stored on your computer are removed and then downloaded again from the mail server.

  1. Start the Apple Mail application.
  2. From the Mailbox menu, click Rebuild. (If you don't see the Rebuild option or it is grayed out, close any compose windows and select the inbox in the primary Mail application window then try again.)
  3. This rebuild process can take from a few minutes to an hour or more depending on how large your inbox and sent messages folders are.

CAUSE

This occurs when Apple Mail is not synchronized properly with the Office 365 Exchange account. The effect is that the mail no longer exists on the server but still does exist on the local client. The client (Mail) cannot delete it because according to the server, the email is already deleted.
