6 is locked advising i need to connect to itunes and restore?

Customer: sorry, I don't know what you're asking about
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: I have not, the phone was working fine and then just locked up
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: just shutting down and restarting. I went on itunes and looked on on my ipad how to connect and restore. Couldn't find the :"summary button"
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
