I just found my old ipod touch model no. A1288 with music I want to save. How do I get the music from the iPod into my newer iTunes library?
JA: What Operating System (OS) are you running on your computer or device?
Customer: On the iPod it's Version 2.2.1 (5H11a)
JA: When did you last update your iTunes?
Customer: Can transfer to either a PC or MacBook Pro.

To transfer music from your old iPod to your newer iTunes library,

  1. Download and install TouchCopy:
  2. Connect your old iPod to your computer via the USB cable.
  3. Click "Backup" and then select to "Backup Content into iTunes".
