I want to restart my computer, but I am unable to quit Safari. Help!
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your machine, and what operating system are you running?
Customer: I have a Mac Book Pro The Safari version is 10.7.1
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: no

In such cases, you will have to force shut it down. You can do so by pressing and holding the power button down on the MacBook Pro for 10 seconds or until it turns off. Once it's off, simply turn it back on and you will be good to go.
