My apple box isn't working. At first no power but after unplugging power - the light came on however my remote isn't working. Any thoughts?
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: how do I check that?
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: On which device? My problem is with my apple box. Wasn't aware there were updates for that.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: none - can't find any trouble shooting suggestions.

There are two ways to link your Apple Remote (aluminum or white) to your Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation): You can go to Settings > General > Remotes and choose Pair Apple Remote, or press and hold the Menu and Right buttons for five seconds.

On your Apple TV, after you successfully link your devices, appears above an icon of a remote.
