I don't understand you can't just cancel an Apple ID. If you made a new one your old one should still work? Can you clarify?
Yes but how did you cancel your old ID?
And no of ours the MacBook is not going to change it's Apple ID by itself...

OK then just use a password ***** of an Apple ID
Restart the computer
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
Just change it go to System Preferences / Users & Groups and Change password ***** it a regular password ***** of Apple ID. If that doesn't work you need to contact Apple.
