My files have been saving in a .dmg format ant I can't open

Customer Question

my files have been saving in a .dmg format ant I can't open my last 8 saves.
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: Sierra 10.12.2
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: only on my iPhone
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Normally when I open up QuickBooks, my company is there and all I have to do is type in my password. It's not showing up on recently opened, which by the way was on December 26. So I have gone to my jump drive, but my files have been saved in ADM G format and quickBooks tells me I cannot open anything that saved in that format/ some type of disc. I can't remember the exact wording of the error message.
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No
