ly changed to gmail because I was getting too much junk on I have done something wrong because I cannot sync with iCloud. can you help me please?
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: I have an apple mac. I think it is IOS7? I'm not sure. it is a mac air
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: not to my knowledge, but then sometimes I press buttons without realizing the ramifications. I am a senior, and not very tech savvy
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I tried to reset a password ***** iCloud, and it won't let me because I've been locked out

  • Open Safari on a Mac.
  • Visit Apple’s iForgot site.
  • Enter the First Name, Last Name and existing Email Address in respective fields.
  • Click Next.
  • If you have two-step verification enabled for Apple ID, you need to use your Recovery Key, which you should have stored somewhere.
  • Once found, enter the number and click Next.
  • Select the phone number used for two-step verification and click Continue.
  • Enter the Verification Code and press Continue.
  • Now, input the New Password ***** Confirm Password *****
  • Click Reset Password.
  • You will now have reset the password ***** your Apple ID, thus granting you access to your account. After you’ve change your password, you might need to update it in iCloud settings on your devices.
