JA: Thanks. Same to you!
Customer: Helo lo
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: Sorry about that Pearl do not no what system unfortuately.Have tried formatting but no luck wontallow me to do even that
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: No wont allow me to do that
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: None
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: yes it also goes dead when i connect to charge also does not turn off when connected just flat

  1. Connect your iPod to your computer with a USB cable.
  2. Put your iPod into Disk Mode. Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons at the same time until you see a message that says Do not disconnect. Learn more about Disk Mode.
  3. Find your device in iTunes.
  4. If you're able to find your device in iTunes, you might need to restore it in order to get it to turn on properly.
  5. If you see a message that says the volume can't be mounted and asks if you want to initialize the disk, choose to initialize the iPod disk.
