Hi and Welcome. My Name is ***** ***** I look forward to assisting you today with your question.

Could you please tell me what do you mean by tether ?

Do you want to download photos from your Nikon to your Mac ?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I want to connect my D3200 directly to my Mac so that any photo with the D3200 I take will go directly to the computer.
Expert:  Ashik replied 10 months ago.

Do you mean Wireless or wired USB connection ?

There are mainly there ways to connect the Camera to download pictures to your Mac.

1 - By USB connection

2 - By connecting memory card to computer

3 - By using WiFi - For this, you have to buy an additional WiFi Adapter but you can only connect to Android or iOS device -->

You can't keep it connected to Macbook Pro to automatically upload pictures you taken on it. You have to do this manually.

Method 1 is the best option to download photos to your Mac. Connect the camera to your Mac with the USB cable. Then go to Applications folder and open Image Capture. Image Capture will recognize the camera and show the pictures/videos in it. Select the pictures and videos you would like to download and download using it.

You can also use iPhoto or Photos to download and save Photos to your library of Mac.

If you have any questions or would like any additional information, please don't hesitate to ask.

I would like to be able to connect the camera to the Mac and see the image on the Mac screen before I take the picture, then take the picture . I can certainly download captured photos but I would like to see the images as if I were looking through the camera viewfinder. This is the true definition of tethering.

Oh ok. I understand. There are no official apps from Canon that does this, but there are some third party applications that allow this tethering like this -->

But it doesn't support your model because of limitation in the software of camera.

There is another one, but it isn't available for Mac -->

There are some official apps are available for Android and iOS devices but not for Macs -->

(You will need to buy the wireless adapter to use your camera with that app)
