My iPhoto library will not open.
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: My Mac is 5 years old. I am not sure. How would I be able to tell?
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: No
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Nothing, except for shutting it off and then restarting.
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?

Can you tell me please exactly what happens when you try to open iPhoto?

Please do the following

  1. Hold down the Command and Option keys on the keyboard.
  2. Open iPhoto.
  3. Keep the keys held down until you are prompted to rebuild the library.
  4. A dialog will appear with rebuild options. Select the options you want to use.
  5. Click Rebuild to begin the rebuild process.

Once done, tell me if it then opens please
