When I tried to open my ipad it said that activation is required. How do I do that?
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: I dont know, my ipad is about 3 years old and it was a gift I'm afraid that I dont know the particulars of it.
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: No
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: The only thing i knew to try is to hold down the power button for several minutes. I know that works on my phone. I couldn't do anything else
